All of our fly out trips to rivers have a 4 fish per person limit. If you are not sure which river you are interested in, that is okay, we can decide that day. Jordan knows where the fishing is best.
Just book a seat and we will do the rest. We have a minimum of 4 fishermen per flight. If you have a smaller group, we will combine you with others to make a day of it.
These are “do-it-yourself adventures” and Yakutat Air provides air transportation only. If you would like a guided trip, we can put you in touch with the right fishing guide, or you can look to our links for more information.

The Akwe River is a glacier-fed river system that parallels the coast before joining with the New Italio River and entering the Gulf of Alaska. The lower 8 miles of the Akwe River are shallow and wide and provide excellent tidal fishing opportunities for the serious expert angler. The Akwe provides great fishing from June until October. Big, feisty kings (chinooks) and finicky sockeye (reds) are available in the late spring, early summer and aggressive silvers in the late summer. For the expert adventurer there is a small run of steelhead and cutthroat if you know where to look. The Akwe River is a great place to explore!
The Old Italio River and the Middle Italio Rivers provide inexpensive and excellent silver salmon (coho) fishing. These aggressive fish are best from the 1st of September until around the middle of October. There are other salmon options available at the New Italio River from June through August. You might have to hike a bit, but if you are up to it, the fishing can be excellent for kings and sockeye. If you are up for a challenge, this destination is for you!
The East Alsek River offers some of the best silver salmon fishing in Alaska. Every year, from mid-August through late October, this river fills with massive coho salmon, making it a prime destination for anglers seeking an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re fly fishing or using conventional gear, the action here is nonstop.
